Music, My Motivation!

I breath, eat, sleep and sh*t music (I know that last part wasn’t really “lady like” for me to say.. oh well). Certain types of music puts me in a certain frame of mind; and I find the older I get that more eclectic I become.

Wale’s album, beginning to end, takes me to the land of motivation. Some people may consider some of his lyrics as ignorant or offensive, but the clear cut reason behind that is the limited level of comprehension of the words; a common mistake made by many. I call these people “beat listeners” .

But back to Wale’s album being my motivation music. I hear pure poetry in his words, and yes I understand that music is poetry, but it’s something about Wale’s deliverance, it’s flawless. F*ck what ya heard or feel, it’s my opinion.

“F*ck FAME, F*ck MONEY, F*ck EVERYTHING ANYONE can take from me. It ain’t hard to make MONEY. We young N*ggas, we just tryna be LEGENDARY.” – Wale – Legendary

Can someone please tell the old Lil Kim I miss her? Thanks!

Awwww, where is my old Lil Kim, I miss her!

Every morning like clockwork, it is a must that I play “Can’t Fuck With Queen Bee” , one of my favorite Lil Kim songs. I kind of think it as one of my theme songs *shrugs shoulders*.

“Like a bottle of fine wine, I just get better with time”.

Chris Brown “No Bullsh*t” Video….DAMN!!!

As I was doing my regular visit to Miss Jia’s entertainment blog (the best entertainment blog in my opinion), I came across Chris Brown’s new video “No Bullshit”, and all I can say is “well damn”.

Never in a million years have I looked at Chris Brown as “fine” or “sexy”. In my mind he was the little boy that my nieces loved, and my nephews tried to dance like. But sh*t, my perception of him has totally changed, I’m damn near ready to fight these lil groupies for a piece of that Chris Brown pie (mmm mm mmm).

I’m looking forward to seeing Chris Brown making a big comeback. Yeah, he made a f*cked up decision by putting his hands on Rhi Rhi, but what he did has nothing to do with his talent. It’s already bad enough that the entertainment industry lacks talented people, so to try to eliminate someone that has undeniable talent would be a big mistake.

Sh*t, leave Chris Brown alone and let him do what he does best.

[I have watched this about 7 times. I really love the song and video, it’s HOT! If someone said to me “don’t you be on that bullshit”…they can automatically get the panties from me..hands down. I’m joking, but at the same time I’m being serious, It’s been a long time. *shrugs shoulders*…don’t judge me]

Damn Google is Good! (super random post)

Can we talk for a minute about the power of Google?

A couple of months ago I was listening to the radio, and at the moment they were doing the traffic report. The music in the background quickly got my attention which made me lose interest about all of the traffic I would run in to on 80. As the instrumental version of this song played, I made mental note to look up what song that was.

So I get home, run to my computer, log on, go to Google, and BOOM….I’m stuck, because I have no clue of how to look for this song. I sat there for a minute just staring at the screen, and finally the light bulb went off in my head; I decided to do the Google search under “hip hop songs with loud horns”. Yeah I know it sounds part retarded to look for the song under that, but guess what..it worked!! HAHA! Uh yes yes y’all, your girl found the song she was looking for with the help of Google.

When I learned the song was by one of my all time favorite groups, Outkast, I was disappointed in myself, I should have already known this information. Anywho, the name of the song is “SpottieOttieDopalicious”, and in true Outkast fashion, it’s different from anything you ever heard. I don’t know what it is, but I have always attracted to songs with loud, distinctive, horns featured in the beat (example:HERE), and the horns on this beat are crazy! With me having the old soul I have, it’s only natural for me to like this song; it’s so retro.

Google will always be the search engine I swear by; Yahoo, MSN, and AOL search engines super suck!!! BOOOOOO!

What? Did Target Pay For This Video?

Okay, so I just watched this “Up Out My Face” video by Mariah Carey 3 times, psychoanalyzing it with a fine tooth comb, and I still don’t get it (I know I’m late but I don’t watch music videos, it bores me). I felt like I was watching a Target commercial or something.

I love me some Mariah Carey, but this video didn’t do for me.

And please don’t even get me started on Nicki Minaj. She has always been a “no go” in my book! But I will give it to her, she has really made a name for herself, and she has a huge following of teenie boopers behind her. I’m only one person who doesn’t care for her music, but she has millions that adore her. So with that being said….ummmm..get money I guess.

Ummm, Damn Erykah. (Window Seat Video)

Two points I need to make before I go any further. 1.) Erykah Badu is the shit! She undeniably is one of my all time favorite artist, hands down. 2.) UMMMM, Erykah is thick as hell. I know with me saying this, I either sound like a man or I’m someone who likes women, but I’m neither of the two. I can comment on her body and still be a 100% straight woman, and not have to say “NO HOMO”. Shit, I’m very comfortable with my sexuality.

If you watch the “Window Seat” video (below), you will see what I am talking about. It shocked the hell out of me to see she was so stacked. She never wore anything revealing to show her shape, so I guess their was no real way of knowing that she was so damn thick.

I love the video and the concept behind it. It’s time for everyone to step in to the “EVOLVING” state of mind. Free yourself from what the world says “WHAT IS”.

One Of My All Time Favorite Songs

This song is definitely going to be on my wedding playlist when I get married, and with my dating track record, that won’t be anytime soon..LOL! Some may say I’m “Ghetto” or “Hood” for wanting Keith Murrays Most Beautifullest Thing In The World as one of my songs, but so what, I love the song. Of course this will not be played at the actual wedding, but it will be played at the reception, IF the wedding bells ever ring for me *rolls eyes*.

Come One Come All To Sounds Of Fashion!!

Sounds Of Fashion April 22, 2010

Some may know and some may not know, but I have now added “Cupcake Creator/Designer” to my resume. WHOOT WHOOT! This is a very exciting time in my life. I have learned so many things about myself in these last couple of months, it’s beyond amazing to me.

Of course I have not lost my love of fashion/earring designing, that will never fall by the waist-side and will always be my first passion. I’m just opening new creative doors, to lead me to new creative avenues.

On April 22nd, Duck Fu Ent. and Saditeish will present Sounds Of Fashion at 111 Minna Gallery. Come out to see a great fashion show by Riscouture and Faze Apparel, and enjoy music by different artist. This also is the relaunch party for the online magazine that I contribute to as a writer, http://www.onestophiphopshop.com. And I will be debuting and giving out my SweeTee Cakes (cupcakes) for everyone to taste.

So to all of my Bay Area readers, come out and have a great time and support local artists, and businesses. If you are not in the Bay Area or can’t make it out, don’t worry, I will give you the full run down of the event, along with a crap load of pictures.

One last thing. I would like to give a shout out to Nick (Duck Fu Ent.) for thinking of me when planning this event. He is one of thee coolest people I have met, and I truly appreciate everything he has done to help me out. We need more people like him in the world.

[If you are interested in checking out my cupcakes (that sounds so perverted), check out my other blog, http://sweeteecakes.blogspot.com. All of my latest cupcake creations will be posted there.]

Yesss! I La La La Love This Song!!

HEYYYY!! *DOING MY INFAMOUS TRADEMARK DANCE*. Billy Blue made himself a brand new fan, ME! As we all know, I love all types of music, except for that head banger stuff, I can’t get with that (no ma’am no sir).
I have my moments when I want to hear something inspirational, and I have my moments when I want to hear something that is borderline ignorant (don’t judge). Subjecting myself to one type of music is what I will not do. With me, it’s either I like it or I don’t, and I do like this Fresh From Head To Toe by Billy Blue.
